The Baglio Santacroce hotel is located in the countryside of Valderice, on a hill facing the sea .
The building dates back to 1637 and was built by the barons Fallucca in the middle of their feud in elevated position, symbol of dominion, the "Shepherd" ( Superintendent of the owner and head of slave labor ) could control all farms. The house was used as well, to be stable, from home for a few farming families in the service of the feudal lord, to be shed for tools and a barn. Towards the end of the 800, in an era characterized by the raids and bullying of bandits, the building, because of its isolated position, he was elected to the headquarters of bands of brigands who took refuge in an old cistern, whose discovery was only when they started the renovations . This hiding place, many of whom had heard in the country, in fact had been concealed for many years and camouflaged by thick stone walls that muffled every sound . Today the building is living a new life, since in 1982 they began the renovation work, cared for in the first person by the owner Giuseppe Cusenza that, with fewer workers and in 5 years of work, he completed a clever work of restoration and recovery "Baglio" .

In fact it has been recreated the atmosphere of the original environment with simple rooms decorated with furniture from olive wood and wrought iron beds original valdericine recovered in the countryside .
The floors have been redone with rustic terracotta tiles crafted in a traditional technique today almost disappeared.
Adjoining the ancient building has been recently built a new "Baglio" perfectly integrated whole, proposing the architectural style of a building in closed court, keeping both in the furnishings and materials, style and originality of the parent .
The 60 rooms, including two junior suites, are equipped with private bathroom, telephone, television, safe and heating, while in the new "Baglio" increase the comfort air conditioning and mini -fridge.
The restaurant, located on the covered terrace with beautiful sea view, offers good food with different dishes typical of Trapani.
